Many dating websites now have the option
of video chat in their services and some
websites are built entirely around this form of communication
where it's the main focus and allows you to see
others and participate in various webcam
sessions.
These video
chatting sites are usually free and offer great
services. Sometimes you do have to join so your
connection doesn’t time out and break off. All
that is required is a valid email address and no
payments necessary, so the benefits of joining are worth
it.
Be sure you
have a good video webcam if you want to participate in
others being able to view you.
The learning
curve can be tricky if you aren’t up to speed on the
lingo for chat rooms. Don’t fret, everybody has
experienced this one way or another so I’ve listed the
most common terms here:
LOL – Laughing
out loud
CULR – See you later
IMHO - In my
humble opinion
:) - Smile
:( -
Sad
;) - Wink
:-P – Sticking Out Your
Tongue
When your in a
chat room you want to be polite, so of course say HI!
Get to know what the topic is and the conversation by
reviewing the talk for a little bit.
Being polite
goes a long way, so be respectful and you’ll be treated
with respect in return. Remember the old saying
“Do onto others, as you’d have done to
you.”
Common things
to remember is don’t use all caps, that tells someone
your YELLING. Also don’t use profanity since this can
get you booted off the chat room rather
quickly.
Don’t give ANY
personal information online while chatting due to the
onslaught of identity theft and there are just plain
sick bad people out there lurking.
Flaming
someone is when everybody comes down on you and verbally
(so to speak) berates you, so don’t let that happen as
your experience will not be the best.
By following
the items I listed above your experience will be fun and
worthwhile and you should not get
flamed.
